  1. How does your service work?


    Our scanning service is based on a simple 4 step process.

    XtremeScan order and processing service


    Step 1 Order: Select the scans you need together with any options and add them to the shopping cart.  Hit the checkout button and provide us with your shipping and payment information.  You will also be asked to provide a password you'll need to check on the order status and view your scanned images online.
    Step 2 Ship: Carefully pack your film and mail it off to us. Be sure to ask for delivery confirmation and insurance.
    Step 3 Scan: We scan your images and load them on your personal XtremeScan Gallery page. This process will take beteween one and two weeks, depending on the size of your order.
    Step 4 Ship:Once the scanning is completed, we will ship your original film together with any additional products that you selected. We will also send the tracking number so you'll know exactly when to expect the items.

  2. Which resolution is right for me: 2000, 3000, or 4000 dpi?


    It depends on the print size you have in mind. Each of the three options provides an excelent source for pictures destined for the web, e-mail, slideshows, and more. Some customers scan their film at 4000dpi simply because it stores so much more image detail and they never plan to scan them again. On the other hand, higer dpi results in much larger file size and takes longer to scan (more expensive).

    Most customers find that 2000dpi is more than adequate for their needs.

  4. How long will it take to complete my order?

    Film scanning requires dedicated time and attention. Orders with several hundreds to thousands of images will generally take more than two weeks to process. Less than 100 images takes about a week to complete. Contact us with your order size to get a better estimation.

  5. I'm in a rush and need my images back sooner?

    We do offer a priority scanning service. Let us know about your timing requirements. We'll do everything possible to help you meet your deadline.

  6. I have special requirements not listed on your web site?

    We do offer custom scanning solutions. If you are interested in a scanning service not listed on our web site, please contact us directly. We understand that everyone's needs are not the same, and we'll be glad to assist you with any special requirements.

  7. Where is my order processed?

    Every order is processed at our facility in New Hampshire and is never sent off-site for processing.
